CanCon 2017 Part 1- Seeing the sights

Well, it has been a big week in gaming and painting for me, so rather than my regular Friday post I'll break this week up into three.

CanCon 2017

I went to CanCon and took a few pictures of games and things (particularly scenery) that caught my eye. First, some Bolt Action:

Paul of the Man Cave reports a battle over this terrain at his blog

This impressive LRDG force was raffled off.

MDF scenery has come so far. All the scenery, including vehicles and spaceships, in the next few pics are all wooden.

Yup, that was all wood.

Mick's Metal Models had a nice 15mm modern display, using Peter Pig and (I think) Old Glory figures.

There weren't very many large demonstration games this year. This one was the Battle of Shumshu in August 1945- Soviets invade Japanese-held islands.
Note the Lego landing craft and upturned hull!

Some Flames of War with nice terrain.

 Epic and Dropship Horizon.

Tomorrow- my Blood Bowl Australian Nationals experience!

    1. I'll second that. Sorry I missed that FoW desert table, it looks amazing.

    2. I'm not sure if it was a demo or a tourney game.

  4. Looks a great show, Barks. Thanks for sharing the pics!
