Imperial Assault- Rebel Troopers

I just received my first load of Imperial Assault expansion figures and wanted to get something up for Star Wars Day. The Rebel Troopers really grew on me as I was painting them, and I look forwards to getting more and putting them on the table.

I replaced the helmet antenna with an old brush bristle, and used gloss varnish on the visor.

I mucked about with Comic Life 3 for a few minutes...

  1. Really nice painting. You've captured the look of the uniform material really nicely.

    1. Thanks, PC! I use a black wash over dark grey for the jacket, boots, and weapon, which gives a slight sheen. I'm yet to matt varnish these, which may alter the final appearance.

  2. Niiiice. The face is excellent, your paint job does an unusually high quality and characterful sculpt justice here.

"Comic Life 3"? I'll have to check that out.

    1. Thanks, Allison! I'm quite happy with my current face technique, but the eyes are still looking in every which direction...

I used Comic Life for my Falklands report in January (plug: http://wargamingwithbarks.blogspot.com.au/2015/01/where-there-is-discord-falklands-war.html ). It's a little touchy, but gets the job done.
