I'm kicking along nicely with the survivors. Mostly a basecoat with a wash, highlights if I feel like it, and a bit more time on the faces.
Sister Ophelia is a 'reformed nun', whatever that means. Black wash over dark grey- needs some antishine.

Sister Ophelia, reformed nun |
Kenny is throwing Campbell's soup tins at the oncoming hordes. Warhol would be proud at this social commentary.

Kenny, supermarket bag boy. Acrylic on plastic (2017) |
G-man, nice pose, useful figure.
|
Agent Carter, FBI |
Amanda- I hope she decides to wear something more practical if she makes it through the night... She'll be useful in any slasher film scenario. The dress is blue undercoat, silver, blue wash.
|
Amanda, prom queen |
Alice could do with a bit more attention to her hair, but I like the colour of her dress.
|
Alice, diner waitress |
I like how Jake's face came out. He looks like he'd survive.
|
Jake Cartwright, drifter |
I'm still challenged by getting a smooth orange. I quite like how Victor came out overall.
|
Victor, escaped prisoner |
Detective Winters is the only black character... at least she's very cool. I tried to channel a bit of Kima Greggs from
The Wire.
|
Detective Rachelle Winters |
They are an eclectic bunch. I especially like the nun figure.
ReplyDeleteShe’s quite genetically useful.
DeleteNice. How about a jeweled ring for one of Amanda's fingers.
ReplyDeleteIs this a reference to something? I’m afraid I don’t get it.
DeleteNo. Just thought a ring on her finger would be appropriate for a dazzling femme fatale.
DeleteMaybe she’s on a quest to retrieve it from her mortally-challenged beau!
DeleteNow that is a sub-scenario plot that is genius.
DeleteGreat job on them all Barks! The Detective at the end is my favourite!
ReplyDeleteShe’s really no-nonsense!
DeleteGreat bunch of figures! Especially like the grocery clerk throwing the cans - is that figure from an expansion? I'm pretty sure I have an unopened expansion or two from LNOE that will soon be opened after seeing this :)
ReplyDeleteYes, he is- I can’t recall which.
DeleteSplendid, I have also painted my figures from this board game. Very nicely done
ReplyDeleteCheers, Al!
DeleteExcellent work, and love the caption for Kenny. :)
ReplyDeleteI was almost tempted to write a huge paragraph about the deeper meaning of this figure, but luckily for all my readers I didn’t.
DeleteKenny might wanna keep hold of those tins of soup! Nice work!
ReplyDeleteI’m sure he can get them back later, thanks Ray!
DeleteKenny might wanna keep hold of those tins of soup! Nice work!
ReplyDeleteGreat stuff! As we're all nominating favorites, I'll plump for Alice!
ReplyDeleteA fine choice!
DeleteThey all look fantastic. I think you're right, the last three seem like they will survive the night... the rest? not so sure
ReplyDeleteWho knows?! I do like a subversive plot twist.
DeleteReally nice work again.
ReplyDeleteNot sure if it's something your interested in, but I think the Mantic Mars Attacks models might scale well with the slightly smaller scale of these models.
Thanks, Kieron!
DeleteNicely done
ReplyDeleteCheers, Matt!
DeleteFantastic work, Barks.
ReplyDeleteYou know things are not going well when all you can do is throw soup at the zombies.
Alternatively, it demonstrates confidence. With croutons.
