These figures from Imitation of Life pay homage to Turbo Kid and Apple. I painted them for the 'Romance' theme of the Analogue Hobbies Painting Challenge.
Ha-ha! Those are amazing! I actually have the Turbo Kid on blu-ray... I picked it up because how many other post-apocalyptic movies do you see with BICYCLES!? Bicycles SHOULD be a no-brainer... but people still keep making shows with the belief that there will just be an endless supply of petroleum products lying around for all the survivors to keep using?! Haven't seen if for ages... Might have to dig it out again now!
Eh.... Honestly, I was kind of bored... it was a two hour car chase that just went on and on and on... Nevermind me sitting there wondering where did they get all that fuel so many years after a complete collapse of society!? It strained my suspension of disbelief a little too much! I know it's a wildly unpopular opinion. A lot of people LOVE that movie - and I'm not saying they shouldn't... Just wasn't for me!
Nicely done, thanks for the links, not something I knew about.
ReplyDeleteI had to do my research after seeing the figures!
DeleteYou nailed the palette perfectly Barks, and the subject is fantastic. A great start to 2024!
ReplyDeleteThank you very much! Same to you!
