Robin Hood!

Robin Hood and his Band of Not-Particularly-Merry Men! This is my entry to the 'Nostalgia' themed round of the 6th Analogue Hobbies Painting Challenge.

These are the Warhammer Bretonnian characters Bertrand le Brigand, Gui le Gros, and Hugo le Petit. I picked them up at a local bring-and-buy, along with two squires. I believe they are GW/ Perry sculpts from 1997.

I painted them up from a brown basecoat, then gave some targeted washes and highlights. I'm really happy with how they turned out.

If anyone can direct me to some nice plastics I can use to bulk up this warband I'd be appreciative! Of course, now I need a Maid Marian and Sheriff and a castle etc...

  1. I always wanted those, but by the time I had the money, they were discontinued. Great work :)

I'm not sure how they scale up, but the Perry Agincourt archer set might work if you're ok with them having padded jackets instead of hoods? Other than that, the old plastic Brettonian archer set might work if you don't mind them having helmets?

    1. Oh, not plastic, but Curteys Miniatures do a pack of nice metal medieval archers that look like they would fit. Not sure on the scale of them though

    1. Thanks, Michael! I think I'd have preferred him with a mace, to be honest.
